Project Night: “Shark Tank” edition (February 24, 2016)

Welcome to the new and improved project night, where we’ll be collaborating on a shared mission: create a game together in one month!

In this new “shark tank” meeting format, participants will have a chance to pitch a game idea, and a pool of volunteers will provide feedback and vote for their favorite pitch. The winner of the vote will then lead the group of volunteers in a team effort to create a working prototype of their game idea, and present the results at next month’s project night meeting.

In order for this event to be a success, we need to get as many people involved as possible. For those of you that have been clamoring for more TVGS group projects, this is a great opportunity to make it happen. So sign up to pitch and/or volunteer, and help us spread the word about this event!

Everyone is free to join in, but we need to get a headcount in advance for planning purposes. If you would like to participate in the event, you must register in advance using the form below:

See you in the shark tank!

As usual, we ask that you also please RSVP in the Facebook event or Meetup below:

Project Night: Resolution Keeping Edition (January 27, 2016)

Have a game project you’re working on, or even just an idea for a game you’d like to create? This is a great time to meet up with other people and tell them what your project is about, get some feedback from fellow game makers, and discuss how much progress has been made on your project. Game projects in any state of completion are welcome, so feel free to bring a laptop along and take advantage of the opportunity to improve your game while receiving help and guidance from experienced mentors.

Additionally, this meeting will include an update on our community activities, and a chance for interested members to discuss how much progress has been made on various TVGS initiatives and share ideas for what other types of events and workshops you’d like to see us host in the future.

For reference, you can view the current list of suggestions and group initiatives via the TVGS Trello board, located at http://tasks.techvalleygamespace.com

Ludum Dare 33 After Party (August 26, 2015)

With Ludum Dare 33 finished, we’ll be having a little celebration where participants can show off their games and talk about their experience during the jam. Everyone is welcome to attend the after party, whether you participated in Ludum Dare or not – the more the merrier!

This is also a great opportunity to work on adding some additional polish to your project and finishing up those last few features that you didn’t quite have time to complete during the jam. Our monthly interactive showcase is happening at the Arts Center just two days later, so don’t forget to bring your finished masterpiece along to share with the public.

If you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment here or send a message to info@techvalleygamespace.com.
