Last month, we held our 6th “shark tank” session, where anyone with a game idea was invited to present a five minute pitch. The pitches were then voted on by attendees, and a team of TVGS volunteers have been working together over the intervening month to develop the concept that received the most votes into a working prototype.

Now that a full month has elapsed, the progress that was made on the winning project will be presented. The team will share their results at this meeting, and provide time for feedback and questions.

Participants at this event will again have a chance to pitch a game idea, all for an opportunity to lead a group of TVGS volunteers in a team effort to develop that idea into a functional prototype over the month ahead.

We do need to limit the total number of pitches for scheduling purposes. Therefore, if you wish to participate in the event, we ask that you please RSVP in advance using the registration form: http://goo.gl/forms/bffPovTE9jG58XLh2

Project Night: TVGS Arcade Cabinet & Shark Tank 4 (May 25, 2016)

Welcome to the new and improved project night, where we’ll be collaborating on a shared mission: create a game together in one month!

Last month, we held our third “shark tank” session, where anyone with a game idea was invited to present a five minute pitch. The pitches were then voted on by attendees, and a team of TVGS volunteers have been working together over the intervening month to develop the concept that received the most votes into a working prototype.

Now that a full month has elapsed, the progress that was made on the winning project (“TVGS Arcade Cabinet”) will be presented.  The team will share their results at this meeting, and provide time for feedback and questions.

Based on the strong response to the “shark tank” series, we will be keeping it going as a recurring monthly event. That means participants at this event will again have a chance to pitch a game idea, all for an opportunity to lead a group of TVGS volunteers in a team effort to develop that idea into a functional prototype over the month ahead.

As always, everyone is free to join in. However, we do need to limit the total number of pitches for scheduling purposes. Therefore, if you wish to participate in the event, we ask that you please RSVP in advance using the registration form.

We ask that you also please RSVP in the Facebook event or Meetup below:

Project Night: Phagocytomania & Shark Tank 3 (April 27, 2016)

Welcome to the new and improved project night, where we’ll be collaborating on a shared mission: create a game together in one month!

Last month, we held our second “shark tank” session, where anyone with a game idea was invited to present a five minute pitch. The pitches were then voted on by attendees, and a team of TVGS volunteers have been working together over the intervening month to develop the concept that received the most votes into a working prototype.

Now that a full month has elapsed, the prototype that was developed based on the winning pitch (“Phagocytomania”) will be presented.  The team will demonstrate their results at this meeting, and provide time for playtesting and feedback on how the game turned out.

Project Night: Delhi Rickshaw & Shark Tank 2 (March 30, 2016)

Welcome to the new and improved project night, where we’ll be collaborating on a shared mission: create a game together in one month!

Last month, we held our first ever “shark tank” session, where anyone with a game idea was invited to present a five minute pitch. The pitches were then voted on by attendees, and a team of TVGS volunteers have been working together over the intervening month to develop the concept that received the most votes into a working prototype.

Now that a full month has elapsed, the prototype that was developed based on the winning pitch (“Delhi Rickshaw”) will be presented. The team will demonstrate their results at this meeting, and provide time for playtesting and feedback on how the game turned out.

Based on the strong response to the initial “shark tank”, we will be trying it out as a recurring monthly event. That means participants at this event will again have a chance to pitch a game idea, all for an opportunity to lead a group of TVGS volunteers in a team effort to develop that idea into a functional prototype over the month ahead.

Everyone is free to join in! However, we do need to limit the total number of pitches for scheduling purposes. Therefore, if you wish to participate in the event, we ask that you please RSVP using the form below:

Project Night: Resolution Keeping Edition (January 27, 2016)

Have a game project you’re working on, or even just an idea for a game you’d like to create? This is a great time to meet up with other people and tell them what your project is about, get some feedback from fellow game makers, and discuss how much progress has been made on your project. Game projects in any state of completion are welcome, so feel free to bring a laptop along and take advantage of the opportunity to improve your game while receiving help and guidance from experienced mentors.

Additionally, this meeting will include an update on our community activities, and a chance for interested members to discuss how much progress has been made on various TVGS initiatives and share ideas for what other types of events and workshops you’d like to see us host in the future.

For reference, you can view the current list of suggestions and group initiatives via the TVGS Trello board, located at http://tasks.techvalleygamespace.com
