April 9, 2020 @ 6:30 pm 8:30 pm

PLEASE NOTE: THIS EVENT IS ONLINE-ONLY. The presentation will be livestreamed at https://www.twitch.tv/techvalleygamespace, and via our YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/techvalleygamespace.

Leverage points are places within a complex system where a small shift in one thing can produce big changes in everything. They are natural focal points of influence for designers looking to refine their game systems, and essential sources of agency for players acting within the dynamic system of your game.

If you’ve ever wanted to address a systemic problem but weren’t sure how to get started, come to this talk and learn how to harness the power of leverage points in games and life!

Jamey Stevenson is the co-founder of Tech Valley Game Space and the Creative Director of Spoony Bird, a local game studio serving up flighty experiments in bite-size portions. His 15+ year career as a professional game developer has included design work for such companies as Google DeepMind, HopeLab, and Tag Games. Prior to this, he worked as an AI programmer at Realtime Worlds and a generalist programmer at 1st Playable Productions.
