Orbit: 3D Game Design – Latest Trends in Virtual Reality
October 24, 2020 @ 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm
New trends and developments in Virtual Reality will be presented and discussed, focused on announcements made at the Sept. 16 “Facebook Connect” event.
Virtual Reality (VR) games are at the cutting edge of 3D games. Although VR technology goes back 50 years, the last few years have shown phenomenal progress in low-cost, consumer-friendly VR for games and other uses. Oculus has been at the forefront of these advancements. Each year, the Oculus Connect conference in San Jose unveils Oculus’ latest products and research areas. In 2014 Oculus was acquired by Facebook, which has been making substantial investments in VR technology. This year Oculus Connect was broadened and renamed Facebook Connect.
This meeting does not require any prerequisite knowledge, but familiarity with 3D game design and virtual reality would be helpful.
NOTE: Due to the current circumstances, this is an online-only event. We are hosting it on our Discord server, which you can join using this link: discordapp.com/invite/mrTDyau
