Executive Director

The Executive Director is responsible for executing the administrative and executive duties of TVGS. They will lead the TVGS administrators and coordinators towards the organization’s mission and visions, per direction by the board of directors. The organization is working on raising funds to make this position part-time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent the TVGS when outreaching to other organizations.
  • Promote the TVGS to the public at large.
  • Regularly contact and retain a relationship with the Board of Directors.
    • This includes pitching to the Board of Directors for approval of any new directions brought by the community.
    • Also acts as a liaison between the Board of Directors and Volunteer Coordinators.
  • Regularly direct the Administrators.
    • In particular, provide direction to the administrators so that the organization is able to raise enough funds to run independently.
  • Regularly contact and retain a relationship with the Volunteer Coordinators.
    • Pick up the slack for any volunteer coordinator should one become absent, until another volunteer takes their place.
  • Mediate issues brought up by volunteers, members, and other concerns.
  • Enforce the TVGS bylaws, code of conduct, and other formal policies within the community.

Community Administrator

The Community Administrator is responsible for growing our community of paying members and ensuring that we have a critical mass of game makers utilizing our space for coworking, events and other communal activities. The organization is working on raising funds to make this position part-time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Increase membership revenue and grow the number of active TVGS members
  • Build and sustain a critical mass around coworking at the space
  • Make improvements to the space and establish new membership benefits and perks
  • Oversee the communal equipment and ensure resources are being properly maintained
  • Work to foster more creative projects and collaborations among community members
  • Perform outreach to existing game developers to build awareness and visibility of TVGS
  • Track and report required metrics to the Board of Directors on a monthly basis

Education Administrator

The Education Administrator is responsible for expanding the amount of revenue-generating classes that we are running at our space, and at external venues in conjunction with our various educational partners. The organization is working on raising funds to make this position part-time.

  • Increase teaching revenue from classes, workshops and other educational programs
  • Manage our various educational partnerships and programs, negotiate terms and rates
  • Build awareness of TVGS and expand our relationships with partner organizations
  • Grow our instructor pool by hiring additional teachers and providing training and support
  • Oversee paid classes and teaching commitments to ensure that they are fulfilled
  • Coordinate development of new classes and curricula
  • Track and report required metrics to the Board of Directors on a monthly basis

Fundraising Coordinator

The Fundraising Coordinator is in charge of seeking out new sources of funding, managing the organizational budget, and ensuring that TVGS remains compliant with all relevant tax requirements to maintain non-profit status.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Expand our fundraising efforts by exploring new sources of revenue including membership payments, grants, sponsorships and donations
  • Handle accounting and treasurer duties
  • Ensure that all non-profit paperwork and tax documents are filed in a timely manner
  • Gather metrics required for active grants (event attendance, volunteer time tracking, etc.)
  • Help sort out contracts and other legal/liability details
