Tech Valley Game Space will once again be hosting a fun-filled marathon of Extra Life festivities in Troy, and we want you to join us! Let’s work together to surpass our fundraising goals and make a difference for the Bernard & Millie Duker Children’s Hospital at Albany Medical Center, as well as other Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals throughout North America.
Our team is on a mission to save kids through gaming, and we need your help. Each of us has chosen our local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital where thousands of children are treated each year, regardless of their family’s ability to pay. These kids are facing scary stuff like cancer, cystic fibrosis, and injuries from accidents to name just a few.
We’ll be part of a huge international celebration of the social impact of gamers with Extra Life and it’s our sincere hope that you’ll find it in your heart to support us with a monthly pledge or one-time gift that will go directly to that team member’s chosen hospital.Your donation is tax-deductible and ALL PROCEEDS go to help kids. Last year, Extra Life raised more than $8 million dollars to save kids, but in 2016 our goals, just like the needs of the kids we serve, are much, much higher. We can’t do this without your help. Donating online is safe and easy! To make an online donation please click a participant’s name and then click the “Support This Participant” button on this page. Thank you for caring for our kids!
Join our team!
As part of the regular schedule, we’ll be re-posting descriptions for the IGDA Albany talks that occur at TVGS on the first Wednesday of every month.
For the next IGDA Albany chapter meeting, we’ll be trying out something different: IGDA Albany and Tech Valley Game Space are teaming up to host a showcase of locally created games during All Over Albany’s 8th birthday party. All local game creators are invited to bring along a laptop or other hardware and demo projects in any state of completion.
This is a great opportunity to help build awareness for your game, and showcase it in front of a group of local journalists, bloggers and other media folks. It’s going to be a fun night, and even if you’re not showing off a game project you are still encouraged to join in the festivities. Everyone is welcome to stop by, play some games and eat some cupcakes.
If you would like to demo a game at the meeting as part of the local arcade showcase, please sign up via the registration form. Please direct all questions about the event to firstname.lastname@example.org.
We look forward to seeing you this Wednesday!

Tech Valley Game Space is one year old, and we’re going to celebrate in style with a 1st anniversary party at the new Quackenbush building. Everyone is welcome to take part in the festivities, regardless of whether you’re a first timer or a loyal space cadet that has attended every TVGS meeting over the past year. The more the merrier, so stop by and join in the fun!
This event will also serve as an informal open house for the new TVGS co-working studio, located inside the Quackenbush building at 30 3rd Street in Troy. Come along and check out our new digs – it’s a great opportunity to learn more about TVGS, and to share ideas for how we can continue to expand our efforts in order to help ensure that our second year is even better than the first.
As usual, please RSVP in the Facebook event or Meetup below:
